Joseph Cavalli-Price

Born in Neath, Joseph is a former student at Neath College.   Joseph now studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff.
He has a great love of music and began piano lessons when he was 9 years old with Mark Ritzmann, passing his final Grade 8 Piano exam in the summer of 2014.
Joseph is involved heavily with a number of orchestras, playing the violin in the West Glamorgan Training Orchestra for a number of years. Joseph is the pianist for the Six Counties Big Band, Neath Polyphonic Choir, the Neath Port Talbot College Funk Band and its Orchestra, as well as Class Act Musical Theatre School. He is also an associate accompanist for Neath Male Voice Choir. He plays frequently in events within the local community and in pit bands for productions, including “The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Beauty and the Beast” “Gypsy” and “Oliver”. Joseph is no stranger to accompanying nationally renowned soloists including; Angharad Thomas, Angharad Morgan, Richard Allen, Steffan Jones and Laura Armstrong. Joseph also performs in popular styles as the accompanist of Class Act Musical Theatre School, the Six Counties Big Band and for musical theatre performers, classical vocalists and instrumentalists in local concerts, ABRSM examinations and for GCSE, AS & A Level Examinations.
Joseph is also a talented Percussionist and currently plays in West Glamorgan Youth Orchestra and the newly established West Glamorgan Symphony Orchestra. He has also attained grade 6 organ with a merit and is preparing to sit his grade 7 exam in the near future.
Joseph loves singing and has always taken part in his school and college choirs. Joining St. David’s Church Choir as a young boy treble at the age of just 9, Joseph performs in weekly choral Eucharist’s and Evensongs and has gained the coveted Royal School of Church Music Bronze and Silver Awards. Through his work with the choir, Joseph was honoured to be awarded the position of Area Consultant for the Royal School of Church Music for South East Wales. In 2010, Joseph joined the Welsh choir, ‘Only Boys Aloud’ and has greatly enjoyed many wonderful experiences with them. These have included; the making of a best-selling album, finalists on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and headlining the Coronation Festival 2013, performing in front of the Queen and the Royal Family in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. In 2014 he gained a place in the prestigious ‘Principality Only Boys Aloud Academy’, a week’s intensive course held in Atlantic College combining choral and movement workshops, general musicianship lessons, an intensive programme of rehearsals and workshops with the Actor Fra Fee (Les Miserables Movie) and choreographer Jonathan Butterell (West End Director). In 2014, he passed Grade 7 Singing with Distinction and frequently sings as a soloist. Joseph was honoured in 2015 to be the recipient of Pelenna Male Voice Choir’s Bursary Award for Talented Musicians and Neath Port Talbot College’s Cultural Scholarship Award.
Joseph has also found time in-between all this to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Awards, as well as volunteering for many years in his local Cub, Scout group. His volunteer work in the community resulted in him being presented with the Neath Rotary Young Person in the Community Award in 2013.
