St Elli Masonic Lodge Bursary Presentation to Joseph Cavalli-Price

At the annual St Elli Masonic Lodge Sunday Lunch held at the Stradey Park Hotel on the 4th June 2017 the Worshipful Master Philip V Barton  the 2017 St Elli Masonic Lodge Music Bursary was awarded to Joseph Cavalli-Price, a highly talented young man from Neath and a member of Loud Applause Rising Stars (LARS).

The Worshipful Master Philip V Barton presented him with his Bursary Cheque and the Charity Steward  Nigel L Murphy presented him with his Bursary Certificate and Trophy   which he will retain for one year. The Trophy had been donated by Lawrence C Murphy JP.

The Honorary Patron of LARS Huw Tregelles Williams OBE spoke about the work of LARS in nurturing and mentoring young talented singers and instrumentalists and thanked the Lodge for initiating the music bursary, which is to be awarded annually to a LARS member.

Joseph is studying as a tenor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff,he is also a chorister with Only Boys Aloud and the BBC Chorus of Walesalong with being a choral and organ scholar at the Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral transitioning to Llandaff Cathedral in September. He is also accompanist to Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir.

In appreciation of his bursary Joseph performed “ Ombra Mai Fu” (Handels Largo) and ‘Somewhere’ from West Side Story by Bernstein, he was accompanied by Andrew Pike.
