WHAT A NIGHT!
LARS celebrated its 5th Anniversary in style with a black tie dinner dance at Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli on the 22nd September 2018.
A packed room comprising predominantly stalwart Friends of LARS – our support circle, the Trustees and Team of LARS, the young LARS artistes, their parents and friends and invited guests which included The Mayor of Llanelli, Chairman of the Rural Council, Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council, the Welsh Assembly Member for Llanelli and the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan with their consorts and wives. It was a pleasure also to have the company of Huw Tregelles Williams OBE, Honorary Patron of LARS.
Guests were welcomed by Mark Llewelyn Evans, the Ambassador for LARS who bound the evening together in his own unique and skilful way. A delicious three course dinner was served with coffee and mints. To make that special difference to the evening the LARS singers performed between courses, the artistes were: Jack Owens, Lauren Fisher, Daisy Owens, Neve Summers, Osian Clarke, Callum Howells, Stephen Davies and Nia Rees. The singers were supported and very ably accompanied by LARS Musical Advisors Catrin Hughes and Andrew Pike, Stephen Davies doubled up as Nia’s accompanist.
A very lucrative fundraising session followed the dinner comprising Heads and Tails, a raffle and auction. The night ended with dancing late into the night to the brilliant Fat Barry Soul Band. LARS is grateful to all who helped in any way to make this a night to remember. Can we wait another 5 years before our next big dinner dance?
What do you think? Should we make this an Annual Event?
