Callum is 19 years old and is currently studying BA Acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Callum started off his professional career in the Children’s Ensemble in the UK Tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s production of the hit musical, ‘Oliver!’
As well as theatre, Callum has been seen on television when he travelled to South-East Asia to film a documentary on CBBC about the contrast in other children’s lives on the other side of the world called ‘Show Me What You’re Made Of’ which was later nominated for a Children’s BAFTA Award. He has also recently returned to the series to guest-Present the programme, filling in for the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 Winner: Stacey Dooley. Callum worked with CBBC’s Blue Peter as their Royal Correspondent for a number of special events including the Queen’s Coronation Anniversary, Prince Charles visiting Wales and interviewing Black Rod in The Houses of Parliament.
Callum also has a passion for Tap Dancing where he has recently attained his Gold Medallion (with Honours) and Grade 5 (with Distinction) with IDTA.
Callum is also a member of the successful choir Only Boys Aloud and has been for over 7 years.
Callum performed in a contemporary dance production with Matthew Bourne’s company; New Adventures, at the Wales Millennium Centre called ‘Lord of the Flies’ which had exceptional reviews all across the UK.
Callum was chosen out of over 2,000 auditionees to join National Youth Music Theatre’s production of ‘Prodigy’ (a brand new musical written by Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary) and was performed at the St James Theatre in London.
In December 2015, Callum played the role of George in ‘Of Mice and Men’ performed at Treorchy Comprehensive School for various schools in the locality and beyond. A very unique production that was highly commended by every audience.
Callum returned to NYMT to play the role of ‘George’ in their production of Brass at Hackney Empire, London.
Callum played the role of James in the play ‘Blackout’ written by Davey Anderson as part of National Theatre Connections 2016 with his local professional theatre company; Motherlode Theatre (produced by RCT Theatres). Their production was selected out 500 plays to be performed in The Dorfman space at the National Theatre, Southbank after a small tour of Wales.
Callum is also a member of Loud Applause Rising Stars, of which he his extremely proud to represent in all of his ventures.
Callum played the role of Arpad Laszlo in She Loves Me at the Menier Chocolate Factory, London from November 2016-March 2017. A beautiful revival that received rave reviews at London’s most prestigious Off-West End theatre.
In 2017, Callum originated another role in the brand new touring family musical ‘Tickledom’. He played the role of Basil at various venues across Wales culminating in a performance at the Wales Millennium Centre.
Callum’s most recent achievement is representing the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at Shakespeares’s Globe in London where he played The Gravedigger in a one off scene from Hamlet at the prestigious Sam Wanamaker Festival.
He is can currently be seen playing the role of A in a production of Sarah Kane’s Crave at Cardiff’s The Other Room theatre space.
